Last week I sent out an email notifying most of you that our students had been exposed to head lice. This is just a reminder to occasionally check your students' heads. You can find great information on how to treat head lice on any number of webpages. Here's one you can check out. http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/common/head_lice.html
Our school has a No Nit policy, as stated in the handbook. What that means is, there can be no visible lice eggs (nits) on a students head. Therefore when a student is sent home they must be checked by the nurse before they are allowed back in school. As I only work a couple of days a week you need to call the school and set up a time for me to meet you before your child can return to class. One of the most important things to remember, is lice are not harmful. They are extremely annoying but they won't hurt you or your student. Also, lice don't care who you are they are an equal opportunity pest. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to contact me. Thanks.
