Hi! Welcome to 2016. This time of year in my office I see a lot of coughs, and colds, but I also see a lot of little guys and girls with bumped heads. When the weather gets cold and recess moves inside you've got lots and lots of energy to be expended in a smaller space than the playground. The kids bonk heads or bump their heads on the wall. Or even on a coat hook when hanging up their coats and jackets. This is also the time of year with ice and snow. And people of all ages have a tendency to slip and fall and occasionally bump their heads. While most of what I see in my office is minor and is fixed with an ice pack and a little love, occasionally head bumps are more serious. The CDC has come up with a new site called Head's Up. It's all about concussion information and what you need to look for. You can check it out here.
